Up for Grabs: THE WHITE QUEEN, Philippa Gregory

Philippa Gregory, author of THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL (2001), has a new novel, THE WHITE QUEEN, being published next week (August 18)

Publisher's blurb:

the first of a new series set amid the deadly feuds of England known as the Wars of the Roses.

Brother turns on brother to win the ultimate prize, the throne of England, in this dazzling account of the wars of the Plantagenets. They are the claimants and kings who ruled England before the Tudors, and now Philippa Gregory brings them to life through the dramatic and intimate stories of the secret players: the indomitable women, starting with Elizabeth Woodville, the White Queen.

The White Queen tells the story of a woman of extraordinary beauty and ambition who, catching the eye of the newly crowned boy king, marries him in secret and ascends to royalty. While Elizabeth rises to the demands of her exalted position and fights for the success of her family, her two sons become central figures in a mystery that has confounded historians for centuries: the missing princes in the Tower of London whose fate is still unknown.

I have been offered 2 give away copies of THE WHITE QUEEN by Philippa Gregory, to be posted internationally.

All you need to do is to leave a comment indicating why you would like to be in the draw for a copy of the book.
I will close the draw on Saturday 22 August, and will announce the winners both by a comment on this post and in my Sunday Salon post on Sunday 23 August.
If you are a winner you should then contact me by email with your snail mail address for me to forward to Katrina who is promoting the book and kindly made the competition possible.

By hook or by crook I MUST have this book :)

Philippa Gregory is a must read author for me - I have all her books and have been waiting on tenterhooks for this new series to come out. If I am not successful here - I will be buying it :)

Everything I read about this author is glowing and rave reviews. I'd love to see what the hype is all about. Historical fiction is so wonderful anyways.
Please enter me in the drawing.

I love reading and learning about most time periods, but am especially interested in English royalty. I've read the other Gregory books and would love to travel to a period leading up to Henry VIII.

I cannot wait to get my hands on this book! Please enter me :)

I usually prefer authors who stick more to the known facts, but for PG I always keep coming back because she is the one who first got me interested in hist-fic with The Other Boleyn Girl, and now it's mostly the only genre I read (and it's my blog's subject too)! I've read all her Tudor era books; can't wait to read her Plantagenet series as well! Thanks for hosting.

I've been waiting for this book to come out! I've been fascinated with Elizabeth Woodville since I worked on a production of Shakespeare's Richard III.
